WHO WE ARE
We are Jon and Hannah Rettig, owners of 15:5 Designs. We are from Kansas and have 3 beautiful daughters.
HOW WE GOT STARTED
Having always had a passion for woodworking and building things, we decided to turn this hobby into a business.
Jon has been making decor items around the house for as long as we’ve been married and has done a significant amount of remodel work around our home in that time as well.
It wasn’t really until Jon got a couple requests to make some cuttings boards for gifts did it really start to spin the wheels on the idea of making and selling items.
HOW WE GOT OUR NAME
Faith and family have always been at the core of our life. Jon especially has always had a deep passion for religion and theology. Jon’s father and grandfather had the greatest influence in this area in his life. He had a close relationship with his grandfather, who also enjoyed woodworking among other hobbies. John 15:5 was his grandfather’s confirmation verse and Jon chose this for his as well.
When deciding on a name for the business, I kept coming back to this verse. Having shared many things in common with my grandfather (i.e., woodworking, faith etc.) I could not think of a better way to pay homage to such a great man that this. Thus 15:5 Designs was born.
